FAQs

for Semi Permanent Makeup

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a cost for a consultation?

Yes. From the 1st September 2016 all consultations and appointments require a deposit payment which is deductible from your treatment cost. Free consultations are available however these are on an informal basis fitted in around paid appointments.

How much does it cost?

Prices vary depending on the semi permanent makeup treatment. Our current Dubai price list can be found HERE. For enquiries please see our contact page HERE.

Who decides the shape and colour?

You do. There is a vast number of colours and we usually recommend a mixed bespoke colour to compliment your natural skin tone for all our semi permanent makeup treatments.

The shape is always drawn on for your approval prior to applying the semi permanent pigment colour.

Is Semi Permanent Makeup safe?

Yes. We follow the strictest standards for hygiene, health and safety to UK standards.

We helped develop local guidelines for Health and Safety for semi permanent make up treatments in line with standards used on Harley Street, London.

Is the equipment used sterile and hygienic?

Yes. We only use pre-sterile, individually packed needles made in Germany. Each needle is used once and disposed of in a sharps box. The main unit and hand piece are covered using medical grade film that helps protect against microscopic blood spores and bacteria. The film is only used once and is disposed of after each client.

Is equipment up to current global standards?

Our micropigmentation machines are certified to class 2A medical grade certification. In our opinion it is the best and most comfortable machine on the market for all our specialist micropigmentation treatments – semi permanent makeup, medical micropigmentation and hair & scalp micropigmentation.

Is the treatment painful?

Some clients feel minor discomfort. Most women liken our eyebrow treatment to plucking eyebrows and feel a little uncomfortable.

Many clients feel the years of looking great with perfect makeup and carefree results outweighs any momentary discomfort.

How long is a treatment?

Appointments are made in 1 hour slots, 15 minutes for consultation and after care instructions and about 45 minutes for the procedure.

Where are the procedures performed?

Treatments are performed at LCAS, the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery in Healthcare City, Dubai. 4th Floor, Block E, Building 64, District 1 (behind Wafi). In the same building as Moorfields Eye Hospital. LCAS location can also be see on our contacts page HERE.

Choosing the shape and look

We will discuss your requirements and advise on the correct shape. We then draw the shape on with an eyebrow pencil. Points to consider when choosing your eyebrow shape are:

  • choosing pigment colours to replicate individual hairs along the eyebrow – a great solution for sparse, over-plucked or missing brows (eyebrows)
  • defining an eyebrow shape with colour to create a stronger, thicker effect
  • lifting the brow using placement, shape and colour to give a refreshed appearance to the face

Treatment Sessions

Our costs include the required top up sessions. Top ups are required to ensure the pigment adhere’s to your skin correctly and last for as long as possible. 4-6 weeks between treatments allows the skin to fully heal.

Eyeliner, eyebrow and lip line treatments consist of 2 treatments, 1 initial and 1 top up 4-6 weeks after the initial treatment.

Lip Blush and Full Lip Colour treatments consist of 3 treatments, 1 initial and 2 top ups, 4-6 weeks apart.

Licence

We are specialist Micropigmentation experts to the Middle East. All our treatments including semi permanent makeup are fully and meet Dubai Municipality and Ministry of Health regulations.

We adhere to the highest health, safety and hygiene standards.

Aftercare

Semi permanent makeup treatments cause irritation and swelling to the treatment area. In some cases there may also be redness however this will subside very quickly.

Normal activities may resume immediately following the procedure. You will be given after care instructions at your treatment appointment.

Is Cheap the Best?

A warning about cheap treatments, “You get what you pay for” is a statement very well suited to semi permanent makeup. Cheaper treatments are often poorly done using cheaper machines and pigments usually associated with body art tattoos. This often results in the horror stories we have heard about with eyebrows turning blue or green.

Cheaper Micropigmentation machines are not finely tuned and tear the skin causing unnecessary pain and discomfort. Cheaper systems may not be fitted with the necessary depth adjustment to implant pigments into the outer epidermis causing the pigment to be implanted deeper becoming permanent.

Before you know it the “great deal” has turned into a disaster requiring an extensive and expensive course of removals and cost to reapply. We say it is far easier to do your homework and research specialists to find the correct one to perform your treatment. For more information on our semi permanent make up treatments, removals or corrections please email info@exclusiveaesthetic.com.
